Having Trouble Adding An Image Gallery To Post

Hi there,

I’m trying to add an image gallery to a post. I’ve tried going the traditional route using the ‘Add Media’ and ‘Create Gallery’ function both trying the link to ‘attachment page’ and link to ‘media file’ option. Neither open us the thumbnail in a lightbox.

After that, I tried pasting the gallery shortcode into the gallery override box down on the right side of the post screen. While the gallery loaded it is cut off – not full height.

How am I supposed to make this load up correctly. I did not see instructions in the documentation.

Thank you,

Retro Dairy Mart

Hi,

The correct way is to make the Gallery from Media Files using the Create Gallery function.

Copy that shortcode into the "Override default post gallery".
Set a feature image, which will be the first inside the gallery, and click the Format of the post to be a Gallery one. This will make your gallery visible without problems.

Hi there,

Thank you for letting me know what the correct steps are for adding an image gallery. I followed those steps but the image window/container holding the images added to the gallery is cut off. Same thing happened when I used the video embed function for another post.

Here is the shortcode I entered into the Gallery Override field/box:

[gallery size="full" ids="2370,2369,2368,2367,2366,2365,2364,2363,2361,2360,2359,2358,2357,2355,2354,2352,2351,2349,2348,2347,2346,2345,2344,2343,2342,2341,2339,2337,2338,2336,2330,2331,2332,2333,2334,2335,2329,2328,2327,2326,2324,2318,2319,2320,2321,2322,2323,2317,2316,2315,2314,2313,2312"]

Hi,

Try to turn off the sidebar and additional options you do not need.

Hi,

I deactivated the sidebar and additional options for a full width view with no sidebar and tried it with my custom sidebar loaded but all the rest of the additional options turned off and the viewing area is still cropped.

Hi,

The gallery gets the view as wide as the content is.

Its not cropped, its right width.

Holy smokes. This is extremely frustrating.

How do I get it to adjust to the height as well? Other than making the post full width. Because when I do, it still gets cropped.

Ok. I figured it out myself. What I needed to do was:

Snapshop Options > Advanced > Featured Images > Single Post Featured Images > Set Max Height to 1200.

This will give me the maximum amount of space to work with. I did need to go into the photoshop to make sure that each image uploaded is uniform in height because the container does not adjust but as far as splitting the difference goes - it is not that bad.

There are so many things I like about this theme and your work as developers but there are a couple things like this that doesn't seem to be in line with the quality of work that you guys most regularly put out. The gallery container should be responsive as well.

Hi,

Thank you for your support, we are doing the best we can to ensure everything works perfectly, but sometimes something is slipped trough our scope, hope you will continue to support us.

You should check some of our new themes, they are also top quality and designed by the latest standards and using Visual Composer as page builder.

Have a nice one,
