Hello, I’d like to be able to link to particular timeline items from an image (image map) on the page. I’ve tried linking with anchor tags to no avail. Can you please let me know if this is possible, and if so how to set up the links to the timeline items.

Thanks for your help in advance,

CJ

Hi,

Can you clarify a bit more about what you want to do? Do you want to open the page where the Timeline is with a specific item centered, or do you want that item to be opened, or something else entirely?

Kind regards,

Sure, sorry for the confusion. I want to open an item with a link from an image.  If you look at the page here: http://rubenrodriguezentertainment.net/journey/

I'd like to create links on the years (spanning from 1976 to 2013) so when someone clicks a a particular year, the first item from that year opens.   I'm just not sure how to open a particular item with a link.

Thanks again for your help!

Hi,

You won't be able to achieve this through HTML alone, because the items are created through jQuery. You will have to bind a method on click of each link that will call the function $.timeline('open', id) where id is the data-id element of the particular item you want to open.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.  I'm not sure how to go about this. Might you be able to provide me with the code needed? Or perhaps point me in the right direction in how to achieve this. Clearly, jQuery is not my strong point.

Also, can you please remove the link from my previous post. I didn't realize that this was a public forum, and I'd rather it not be indexed.

Thanks again,

Hi,

You will have to do something like

$('#id-of-your-link').click(function(e) {

e.preventDefault();

$.timeline('open', data-id);

});

where data-id has the value of the item you want to open.

Kind regards,

Br0
